Yet only five other states are more densely populated. New Castle County is the most densely populated of Delaware's three counties. In New Castle County, Wilmington is the largest city with 72,000 followed by Newark, the site of the University of Delaware, with 27,000. Dover, the State Capital is located in Kent County and is the second largest city with a population of 30,000.
